Today, I went to 写仏 at a temple in Ikebukuro, with the cousin of my sixth form college Japanese teacher.
Basically, you trace a picture of a Buddha. The priest guides you on the correct way to do it. The pictures are crazily detailed.
It was really interesting, and I discovered that not only can I not draw, I apparently cannot trace either! Good fun :]
Be sure to send a copy of that to Ian Reader, he'll love it. You might get mentioned in one of his lectures, thus become famous in England, Japan, California and Germany.
